Position
1. Mid Level Design Draftsperson
We require a mid level design draftsperson to join our team. The successful applicant will be placed with an engineering team directly supporting upgrades, maintenance and capital projects at an existing manufacturing facility for Australia’s largest steel manufacturer.

Utilise CAD software, Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to create precise and detailed 3D models, 2D fabrication and installation drawings.
3D model mechanical, structural and civil components associated with a steel processing facility. Including but not limited to, civil foundations, steel platforms, stairs and structures, mechanical line equipment, lifting equipment, cranes and product storage equipment.
Collaborate with other designers and engineers in a team environment.
Ensure compliance with site requirements, company procedures and Australia standards.
Ability to work unassisted when required.
Assist to maintain drawing documentation and records.

Minimum 3 years experience using Autodesk Inventor 3D
Minimum 5 years experience as a design draftsperson in a mechanical or structural discipline.
Cert III, Cert IV, Diploma or equivalent qualification in engineering drafting.
Proficient skills in Microsoft applications.
Excellent communication skills.
Understanding of Australian Standards.
High attention to detail, ability to problem solve.
Ability to work full time from an engineering office located in Wollongong. (Remote work is not possible)

Ability to work unassisted when required, conceptualise ideas and provide insight to design suitability.
